I was just checking this comparison post:
http://nokia-n900.com/nokia-n900-vs-htc-touch-pro-2/

..and noticed that the design is very similar, also the dimensions, both have qwerty, hmm...but if you bought the N900, which one of these designs would you choose? Would you remain with the N900 design or change it for the HTC one? Smiley

Even though I like the twisting keyboard, I still prefer the overall design of the N900. The only problem is that it is too heavy

I have tested both styles extensively and i must say i prefer the straight slide from n900 if for nothing else the lesser chance of it breaking.
If the question is then the layout (key spacing, positioning, etc) it all comes down to a matter of habit, sooner or later.

Much like the above, I\'d go with the N900, though I do admit the Touch 2 Pro is quite the looker!

My own reasoning is the lens cover on the N900 is usefull as both protection and effectivly adding another button to the phone (A really really big sliding button to activate the camera!), and the lack of bottons on the front with the sliding keyboard.

The reason for the front buttons and flip-top not doing it for me is simply because with the N900 I can take it out my pocket in one hand, pinch my fingers to open, see there's nothing new, and pinch close to put into my pocket again, quick 'n easy!

In the Touch 2 Pro's favour... four lines of keyboard!

The N900 is oldfasioned (reminds me of the HTC design 10 years ago) and it feels like a brick - while the HTC is smart snappy and quite goodlooking.

And now I do a Clarkson - I would choose the N900 every time - call me oldfashioned, call me a brick, call me a 10 year old HTC WinMobile - I love it.

And I do not trust the durability of the flip-top either.

Never give up, never surrender...
